Courtney Stafford Hickey was born and raised in West Palm Beach, Florida. A graduate from Wellington High School she then attended Florida State University. Courtney graduated from FSU with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature and a minor in British Studies and went on to receive her Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern Law School in 2007 with honors. In law school, Courtney specialized in litigation and performed her internship in Personal Injury studies under her father, Shane L. Stafford. Today, she continues her work in the area of personal injury and PIP claims and litigation.
Courtney participates in various volunteer projects throughout Palm Beach County and has always felt it is important to give back to the community that she calls “home.” She is currently the President of Junior League of the Palm Beaches where she has been an active member since 2007, serving in numerous roles from communities and fundraising chairs to the Executive Board and Board of Directors. She is involved in numerous organizations (past and present) such as the Florida Association of Women Lawyers, Young Lawyers Division of the Palm Beach County Bar Association, Lawyers for Literacy Committee and the PI and Wrongful Death Committee, American Bar Association, Florida Justice Association, Nova Southeastern University Alumni Association, and the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County. In addition, she actively volunteers as an Attorney Ad Litem to several foster children and children with special needs in Palm Beach County.
Ms. Hickey is married to Brian C. Hickey and they have two beautiful daughters, Emerson Elizabeth and Mayer Monroe, plus a dog named “Sunshine.”
